Who We Are
St Moses & Anba Karas Charity is a Christian Coptic Orthodox Charity chaired by Rev Fr Youhanna
who is the church priest at St Mark & St George Coptic Orthodox Church, 238 Elliot Road, Wanneroo,
Perth, West Australia.
Our Mission
Our mission is to relieve suffering and support Brethren in need. Our main area of operations is
currently in the poor areas of Egypt but we are hoping to expand to the rest of Africa, Asia and
worldwide as our resources permit.
All volunteers at our charity are thoroughly vetted and offer their services completely free of
remuneration of any kind, this means that every dollar donated (minus website running costs) goes
directly to those in need.

Helping Those in Need
In the first 6 months of operations, we have also been able to donate ~ 9000 AUD towards feeding the
poor programs in Egypt, supported 25 brides in need, totalling ~ 7500 AUD, 3 patients requiring
urgent surgery (1000 AUD), and a total of 3400 AUD for 5 building projects for essential domestic
works of houses that were at risk of collapsing.
We have also donated over 33,000 AUD to charitable institutes including some orphanages, disability
centres, and cancer treatment for Brethren in need.
We have started a new service offering total support towards the cost of Cataract Surgery for Elderly
Brethren in need. This service was chosen as individuals rarely seek support, and frequently denying
themselves cataract operations, preferring to give any donated monies to their children. The charity
agreed with the local charitable organisations in Egypt the appointment of vetted and trusted carers
who would be responsible for the transportation of the patients, paying directly the operation fees,
arranging post-operative care and purchasing all required eye drops, prescription glasses (if required)
etc. with accountability both to the local charity and ourselves. Cataract surgery not only restores
vision but indirectly helps prevent elderly falls and encourage independence.
We are expanding rapidly thanks to the love and care of our donors. Our Charity is registered with
ACNC and all donations are tax-deductible,
